Quick Load Do you use it?
« on: October 24, 2013, 09:07:39 pm »
I bought Quick Load last winter about the same time I bought RSI shooting lab, and pressure trace. I was wondering if any of ya'll have used any of this software / hardware before? I have not had the time to do more than play with any of it so far. It does require some tinkering to get any of it in sync with your gun(s) but so far it seems to be another tool in the quiver so to speak. It sure is fun to stretch, and cut barrels with out sticking them in the lathe, or ordering a new one and fitting it. As I said before I have not had the time to spend getting everything in sync, so I have done little more than play with it. I have tested a few loads at the supplied settings, and they have been close enough to the actual speeds over the chronograph. It has prompted me to dig out an old interarms mark X and a 1-12 6mm barrel I had on a 700 action and building a short barreled general purpose gun for the ranch. I am thinking 20 to 22 inch barrel length, and a 6mm rem chamber as I have everything on hand to put that together. The length could go out to 26, but I want a shorter one for the pick-up and side by side for those random shot opportunities that pop up while doing maintenance and filling feeders.
No matter the species overpopulation is far more devastating than any plague.
