Steel targets for rifle golf
« on: September 10, 2013, 08:00:30 pm »
Well I ordered some a500 steel to set up a golf style shoot for me and some friends. The idea is 3 targets of varying sizes
 1 between 50 and 200 yards
 1 between 200 and 500 yards
 1 between 500 and 1000 yards

3 people to a team, each shoots 1 target, each shot is a "stroke" lowest score wins with lots of opportunities for side bets.

shooting will be from a "mobile bench" on a trailer.
Thoughts, and ideas welcome. this will be done on a private range/1200 acre ranch that is very hilly.

I love this idea...been wanting to do the same thing on the farm.  My longest shot would be up to 1000 yards.....but I think anything over 400 is unrealistic.

I do not think I would shoot at an animal over about 500-600 yards, but shooting at 1000- 1800 yards sure builds confidence to make the hunting shots at 500-600 yards. I have gotten busy at work, and deer season is starting so the golf will be pushed back till after the first of the year.
