Yet Another Empty Set

:'( :'( Another empty set this evening.  Either the yotes are all educated....or have left the country.  Getting a little perturbed.

I am new to coyote hunting and I have a question...when do you start using the whitetail fawn call?...I am thinking late April into May...have any of you had any luck with that call?...

I was out with a fishing guide last month and he said that a friend of his found a coyote den last  year and put a camera on it...he said that he got pictures of the coyotes bringing in 17 fawn...this was in Cumberland County in Kentucky...

Cheers/bg

I have used the fawn bleet a few times with no luck. But....lately, I have used lots of other calls with little success. Last Fall I was hunting an alfalfa field, and several doe came out just before dark. I switched the call to coyote fawn distress to mess with the doe. They walked within 10 yards of the call and just stood there bewildered. Had fun with that. I never would have thought that many fawns would have been killed by one den of yotes.......crazy. :-\

Not sure how many Fawns are taken by Yotes but if its only one its too many. Thats the biggest reason I put them down when I can.
Why carry a .45acp? Because having to shoot twice is just silly.

Just FYI. Out here anyway, the coyotes are in full "Rut" and only have one thing on there minds!!! If you have them use all your coyote sounds and pup in distress stuff. The cattle are well in to the caving too and the coyotes are feeding on after births ,there well fed so food calls just don't cut it. If you can go call near the cows there hanging near by.. Just my two cents...

I believe it is better than this, it wants to show it important.

The atmosphere in the picture is very calm. It is a great evening to go out to see the scenery
